#latergram from #JapaneseGardens in Portland. “By reading the scriptures I am so renewed that all nature seems renewed around me and with me. The sky seems to be a pure, a cooler blue, the trees a deeper green. The whole world is charged with the glory of God and I feel fire and music under my feet.”—Thomas Merton

Fort Stevens State Park is where the Wreck of the Peter Iredale is located. The beach is very windy on most days which makes it a great place to fly kites, go parasailing and kite surfing. It is located near the mouth of Columbia River on the Pacific Ocean. (at Warrenton, Oregon)

Peter Iredale was a four masted steel sailing vessel that ran ashore in 1906 on the #Oregon coast en route to the Columbia river. It is a popular tourist attraction and I was glad I was able to see it on my last day in Oregon. #PeterIredale (at Warrenton, Oregon)

Cascade Locks, #Oregon. The city took its name from a set of locks built to improve navigation past the Cascade Rapids of the Columbia river. We ate lunch here when we took the cruise with Portland Spirit. (at Locks Waterfront Grill)
